Nayanthara’s act of speech and hearing-impaired woman in the recently released Tamil horror film, Kolaiyuthir Kaalam, had won her quite a few brownie points. Now, given her popularity and fan base in Telugu as well, filmmakers want the actress to cast her spell on the Telugu audience too.
An official remake of the 2016-American film Hush, the Tamil horror thriller is now hitting the screens in Telugu with the title, Vasanthakalam.
Explaining the reason for releasing the film in Telugu as well, Srinivas Dhamera, who bagged the theatrical rights of the film, says, “The film was critically acclaimed in Tamil, but I believe Nayantara being such is a big star, can command good box-office openings. Moreover, Telugu and Tamil audiences think differently. This is the first time Nayanatara will be seen in such a role, and I am confident that Nayan’s intense onscreen portrayal will surprise the Telugu audience.”
