Adarsh Balakrishna bags a web-series

The actor plays an army officer in a show about the Indian army's surgical strikes.

Telugu actor Adarsh Balakrishna has landed an exciting role in a web-series based on the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian army. Confirming the news, he says, “Yes, I am doing a web series, and it will be the first of its kind for me.”

He adds that he will be seen playing an army officer, and the show will be filmed in the Hindi. “The series is based on a very relevant topic, and it’s being directed by Raj Acharya. I did the Hindi film Iqbal 13 years ago, and now, I am doing this Hindi series,” he says, revealing that he landed the project through the recommendation of a friend.

Adarsh has finished shooting for the first schedule of the web-series in Mumbai, and the team is now headed to Jammu and Kashmir for the rest of the shoot. The actor says that he’s glad that digital platforms are giving actors and filmmakers the opportunity to explore new topics and genres. “There is freedom of creativity, people can choose completely different subjects. I can explore opportunities in other languages too. The future is digital,” he says.

Adarsh became a popular name when he finished as the runner-up on the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss. He admits, however, that he hasn’t received as many offers as expected since then. Now, it looks like things are picking up for him. The actor has signed a film with Sudheer Varma and Sharwanand, and he also appears in a cameo in the upcoming film Aravinda Sametha.
