I believe patience pays off: Seerat Kapoor

After a two-year hiatus, the Mumbai-born actress is back with RGG 2, and has signed three more films recently.

Seerat Kapoor, who was last seen in Columbus, is returning to the silver screen almost two years later and will be seen in Raju Gaaru Gadhi 2 (RGG 2). The actress is on cloud nine and says, “There’s no sense of nervousness. In fact, I am excited, with no sense of anxiety. I have really enjoyed the process of shoot and I can’t wait for the release.”

The actress thinks that it is ironical that she even landed the film. “Columbus had released around the same time as Raju Gaari Gadhi, and during the promotions, both the teams often crossed each other’s paths. And at that time, I could have never imagined that I’d be a part of the franchise two years down the line,” says Seerat with a smile.

Ask her about the long break she took post her last release and she says, “I am not someone who’s afraid of time; I believe that patience is what pays off. At that point I had decided that I wanted to take up only those films that I believed in. In fact, looking back, I think the decision to wait and take things slowly was a good one. I signed RGG 2 and never expected that within two weeks Nagarjuna sir would be on board. He is the biggest star I have worked with so far, and that’s when I believed that things take a turn for the better at some point.”

Interestingly, the gap was a period of self-improvement for the actress. “It was all about focussing on myself. I took the time to groom myself as well as my skills. I trusted that the growth would help me out,” reflects Seerat, who eventually signed three more films — Ravi Teja’s Touch Chesi Chudu, Allu Sirish’s next and Ravikanth Perepu’s upcoming film. Coming back to RGG 2, Seerat says. “My character has an interesting name, which I can’t reveal! In fact, I don’t think I have ever looked back at any of my characters’ names and been so intrigued by it. The role was easy to play as I had quite a lot of similarities with her.”
