Jamuna to be Navarasa Nata Kalavani'

TSR will felicitate spiritual leaders, chief priests of famous temples on September 16.

Visakhapatnam: A galaxy of Tollywood and Bollywood personalities, leaders of various political parties and spiritual leaders of different faiths will be attending the birthday celebrations of the Member of Rajya Sabha, T. Subbarami Reddy in Vizag city on September 16 and 17.

Marking the birthday celebrations of Subbarami Reddy on September 17, veteran Telugu actress Jamuna will be honoured with the title of ‘Navarasa Nata Kalavani’ to mark the diamond jubilee of her film career by T. Subba-rami Reddy Lalithakala Parishath (TSR LKP) at Port Kalavani Auditorium in Vizag city.

Talking to the newsmen here on Saturday, Mr Subbarami Reddy said that continuing his tradition; he will be felicitating spiritual leaders and chief priests of famous temples of the country on Septem-ber 16 at VUDA Children Theatre, Siripuram in Vizag city.

On September 17, a ‘Sarva Dharma Samabha-vana Sammelan’ would be organised and spiritual leaders— Sir Swarupanan-dendra Saraswathi, Shaik Muteeur Rahman Saheb, Sardar Harnik Singh and Father Paravastu of different religions will be honoured.

Reddy said he had been felicitating prominent dignitaries in the field of film and fine arts every year. Reddy will turn 74 years on September and this year TSR LKP is celebrating the diamond jubilee of film career of Jamuna and presenting her a title ‘Navarasa Nata Kalavani’. Jamuna made her acting debut at the age of 16. She has acted in more than 200 films in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi, Reddy said.

Senior film stars who acted with Jamuna like B Saroja Devi, Kanchana, Vanisree, Sarada, Jaya-prada, Jayasudha, Krish-nam Raju, besides film personalities Sridevi, Mohan Babu, Brahma-nandam, Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor and other personalities will attend the celebrations, Mr Reddy added.

Replying to a question, Reddy said that he will continue in Congress Party till his last breath and Reddy dismissed the rumours that he would join in YSRC.

Reddy said that if all goes as per plans, he may contest in 2019 elections, However, I am yet to take any decision in this regard, he added.
