Singer Sunitha Upadrashta got engaged to Ram, a Hyderabad-based businessman, at a low-key ceremony on Sunday. The couple exchanged vows in the presence of their family members.
Ram said in view of the pandemic, both families wanted to keep the guest list limited.
“It was not exactly an engagement, but more like a get-together. Sunitha and I are happy to begin a new phase of life,” he said, adding that the wedding too will be a low-key affair.
He was tight-lipped about details of their love story and would only reveal that they have known each other since 2012. “Our company has been managing Sunitha’s social media accounts since 2012. We have been working together for several years, and have decided to take our relationship to the next level. We are extremely pleased with the kind of love that has been showered on us,” he said. Talking of wedding plans, he said “It’s going to be a destination wedding for sure, but we haven’t yet decided on the time and venue. Maybe next year, since both of us are working. We shall finalise the rest of the details soon.” Sunitha has two teens — Aakash and Shreya Goparaju — from her first marriage.
Ram says their support for his relationship with Sunitha is very heartening.
