‘Rana approved Krishna and His Leela’

Suresh Babu admits he didn’t like the storyline but Rana convinced him saying, it’s for the younger generation

Suresh Babu has released his film Krishna and His Leela on two OTT platforms. “I released the film on Netflix for the international audience and I’ll be releasing it after one week on the local Aha channel,” said the producer.

Apparently it was his son Rana who gave the nod for the film, Suresh Babu shared. “Rana selected the story. When I asked why, he said some of his friends were like the film’s protagonist. My wife asked him the same question as she didn’t like the story much either, but Rana said it was a film for the younger generation,” the producer shared.

He added that Rana will be participating in the selection of stories. “He is an actor, studio owner, producer and creator and he wants to preserve his grandfather’s legacy,” revealed Suresh Babu.

“When I saw the film, I told the director that it is best for an OTT platform and not for theatres,” he said, adding that the decision to release it on Netflix and Aha had fetched him good money.

“For a theatre or a television release, the film needs a censor certificate, but for an OTT release, it’s not required,” he explained.

Talking about nepotism, and Sushant Singh’s suicide, he said he neither supported nor opposed nepotism. “I know some big stars have failed and had to sit at home for two to three years. One has to prove their talent. And you have to be strong when there are ups and downs,” the producer said.

Telugu actors like Ravi Teja, Nani, Raj Tarun and Vijay Deverakonda had succeeded because of their own talent, he pointed out.

He said his younger son Abhiram wants to be an actor. “I will support him. Whether the audience will accept him or not depends purely on his talent. Filmgoers don’t accept an actor because he is somebody’s son or grandson,” he asserted.
