A reel telly tale, this one!

The adventure takes off with escapades of this newfound friendship in Goa.

From time immemorial, foreign language movies have been a prime source of “inspiration” for many local filmmakers, but this one comes from the small world of entertainment — Television, which has also come a long way, and it is no more limited to atte-sose sagas or emotionally charged family dramas. If you are still wondering what the ‘small’ connection is, then try taking a selfie with this big picture that seems part-travelogue, part cooking show, part cast-away series all in one reel story!

With lifestyle, food and adventure at its foundation, the ‘feel-good’ movie attempts to make sense of three separate lives which are stuck in their own set of existential problems. As the tale goes, these three protagonists coincidentally meet each other in Goa! A fertile ground for any story-line, though that is in itself the crux of this film!

While one has quit his job to become a director, another is facing family issues, and the lady comes with pre-marital worries over her individual identity. There is also a motherly act, who later stirs up a dish that eventually fixes up the broken lives of all the three.

The adventure takes off with escapades of this newfound friendship in Goa. Owing to cinematic liberty, the three end up stranded on an island! This is where they pour their hearts out, which further strengthens the bond between them.

Moving on from the friendly show, it takes a motherly twist, and adds lots of adventure — paragliding, river rafting and trekking, to spice this young film up further. It even adds the ingredients of a cooking competition at the end, for want of added flavour.

At times, the film is even slower than a television drama, which goes on and on. Not all selfies are picture perfect, and so is the case with this one too.
