Ankitha Gowda plays Prernain Kasauti Zindagi Ki’s Kannada version

Ankitha Gowda will be making her acting debut as Prerna in the Kannada remake of Kasauti Zindagi Kiititled Premalokha.

Kasauti Zindagi Ki (KSK) is one show that the entire nation must have watched or at least, heard of because the sizzling chemistry of Prerna and Anurag was something that was loved by one and all. And when the makers decide to make a Kannada remake of the show, little did Ankitha Gowda know that she is going to be picked as the lead actress. Just like many of the girls, Ankitha too grew up watching the show, and to be able to essay the role of Prerna it the shows Kannada remake is surely a dream come true.

Although Ankitha didn’t watch the show owing to her studies but she had obviously heard it from her family and friends, who used to binge watch the show. Ankitha Gowda, engineering graduate, opens up on bagging the role of Prerna in Kasauti Zindagi Ki’s Kannada remake titled Premalokha.

In an interview, Ankitha says that acting was never on the agenda as after she graduated and landed a job as an engineer, she used to do modelling assignments as a hobby. “But soon, I was flooded with offers to audition for films and serials. I didn’t take them seriously and I tried my hand at just a few. But when somebody referred me for the auditions of Premaloka, I went ahead and gave it my best shot. I came back and decided to leave it to fate. Two days later, I got a call that I was selected. Over 2,000 girls had auditioned for it,” Ankitha Gowda said.

Well, to step into the shoes of Prerana is no mean task as Prerna has become sort of a cult character and to be true to the role, Ankitha binge-watched a few episodes before she went for the auditions. “She is a powerful character; is extremely selfless; and is dedicated to the family. I admire her traits, but at the same time, I would love to bring my own essence to the role,” informed Ankitha.

Besides bagging the role of Prerna, Ankitha says that what was doubly exciting was the fact that her leading man would be Vijay Suriya and interestingly, she wasn’t aware of that when she auditioned for the role and learnt about it much after she signed the contract. Since Ankitha is making her acting debut with the Kannada remake of Kasauti Zindagi Ki, Ankitha was asked as to how will she handle her stint as an actor, and the young lady said that, “I’ve always wanted to be this busy. I love it when I don’t have time for anything else, and just keep working. Let’s see how people receive me now.”
