Jahnavi Dasetty, better known as Mahathalli after her web series by the same name, is getting married to her long-term boyfriend Sushanth who works in the financial domain.
“My mom has been eagerly waiting for our marriage. My family didn’t have a problem but Sushanth’s family had to be convinced due to the clichéd caste problem and the fact that I am a public figure,” says Jahnavi, who plans to tie the knot in July.
When asked what made her take this relationship to the next level, she laughs and says, “I can split my expenses and save more. I can’t think of anything else right now as I’m too happy and excited. I have had butterflies in my stomach ever since we got engaged.”

Ask if it’s going to be a big fat Indian wedding and Jahnavi says, “Just like the engagement, I want my marriage to be a simple affair. But my parents want to invite friends and relatives.”
The writer and actor of the hugely popular web series adds, “All these events have taken place so quickly that I don’t really have the time to think of anything other than my work and wedding shopping. In fact, we released a video two days back on how a bride feels before her marriage and tried to capture all the emotions, advise and much more. All my feelings right now have been expressed in that video.” Jahnavi confirms that she will continue working after marriage.
“Ever since I got engaged, my phone has been flooded with messages asking if I would continue working after my wedding — I will definitely continue to entertain them. Right after the wedding, Sushanth and I will get back to work first. We will plan our honeymoon sometime later,” she says.
