Child artiste Srilakshmi is on cloud nine. The seven-year-old girl has won the state award for the Best Child artiste for her realistic performance in her debut film Vannatthu-
poochi. The film is directed by ace cinematographer turned filmmaker Azhagappan. Talking to this newspaper, she says, “I was thrilled when I received the award from the Chief Minister. All credit goes to my director.” The little girl has also won rave reviews for her acting in the recently released Malayalam movie Kerala Café, a film being made with ten directors. She played the protagonist in Magal, which was directed by actress Revathy. Currently, she is acting in Rettaisuzhi in an important role which is produced by ace director Shankar’s company S Pictures.
