Simple costumes for Gowariker’s next film

While rumours are rife that the costume budget of Ashutosh Gowariker’s next venture has surpassed that of Jodha Akbar’s, sources claim, that the whole look of the film has been consciously kept simple.

Based on the bestseller Do And Die: The Chittagong Uprising 1930 by Manini Chatterjee, Khele Hum Jee Jaan Say, stars Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone.

However, refuting the rumours, a close source from the unit said, “It is not true. The costumes that we have used for Khele Hum... are much simpler than the elaborate costumes of the Hrithik-Aishwarya starrer. Though the film is a period drama set before independence, we have toned down the attires of the entire cast. In fact, Abhishek will be seen in a simple kurta and dhoti while Deepika will also be seen in simple outfits.” Incidentally, ace fashion designer Neeta Lulla has designed the clothes for both the films.
