A new challenge awaits Deepa Sannidhi!

Eventually Deepa starred alongside Siddharth in the Tamil remake of the Kannada hit film Lucia.

While most “presumed” that this actress was not interested in Kannada films, the doe-eyed beauty had something up her talented sleeve. Now, Deepa Sannidhi makes a surprising comeback for yet another “Challenging” venture in a whole new avatar.

Deepa, who has been away for a while from Sandalwood, busy exploring new arenas in neighbouring film industries, is back with Chakravarthy, where she is paired opposite Challenging Star Darshan for the second time. It was also Darshan with whom she made her dream debut, thanks to which she got back-to-back star projects.

Eventually Deepa starred alongside Siddharth in the Tamil remake of the Kannada hit film Lucia. The actress speaks exclusively with Bengaluru Chronicle about her comeback, her love for literature, and much more.

“Its been a while since I was last seen in a Kannada film. It definitely feels good to be back. Working with the same team with which I made my acting debut in Sarathi is also great. The gap had everyone speculating if I was not interested in doing Kannada films anymore. Many were asking me on when I would do my second film with Darshan Sir. The director of Chakravathy is the writer of my first film too,” chips in Deepa, who also features in a guest role opposite Prajwal Devaraj in Tharun Sudhir’s directorial debut in Dwarkish Chitra’s 50th production Chauka. Tharun is the brother of Nanda Kishore.

Reminiscing about her Sarathi days, Deepa says that she had no idea about films. “Somehow, it gives me the same feeling and also working in a similar atmosphere when I did Chakravarthy. Working with Darshan Sir is so wonderful. I have played several characters in the past which are loud, but in Chakravarthy, I play a different and mature character. A lot of scenes between me and Darshan Sir required good chemistry, which is a vital part of the film. It is different even in terms of my look,” she adds, revealing that she will be mostly seen wearing sarees throughout the film.

Insofar as her debut venture Sarathi is concerned, a film that comprised of songs and other commercial elements, the actress says that there are hardly any songs, and a more natural appeal and montage experience in this one. “Sarathi and Chakravarthy are too different from one another, especially my role. As of now, I am not waiting for this one to complete, to choose another film, as I have always puzzled over why many thought I was done with films. I have always maintained that I take up projects only if they excite me,” says the pretty Chikmagalur girl.

Talking about her other passions — literature, writing on various subjects and poems, Deepa adds, that it is something like a hobby as when she is working on films, she dedicates her full-time to movies. Before she signs off, she says that she is still discovering herself on screen and exploring a future of more creativity.

“I am still on the verge of figuring out what to do a few year’s down the lane, as the creative urge in me constantly inspires me to chose different paths,” she smiles.
