Sandalwood actor and cricketer Dhruva Sharma, 35, passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday. Sharma was congenitally impaired of speech and hearing, and had essayed the lead role of a regular guy with perfection — lip-syncing dialogues and songs. The actor is survived by his parents, his wife and two children. He had even captained the Indian deaf-and-dumb cricket team, which won the World Cup.

Popular for his all-round cricketing abilities, he played for Karnataka Bulldozers which is captained by his close friend — Kiccha Sudeep in the Celebrity Cricket League. He had acted in several other movies including the recent Lootie, Tippaji Circle, etc. His father Dr Sharma is also a popular supporting actor on TV and films. According to reports, Dhruv allegedly attempted suicide a few days ago following which he was admitted to a hospital. On Tuesday, he died of cardiac arrest and multiple organ failure.
