Seeing children of super stars in films is not a new phenomenon, but what’s interesting is how these little champs are essaying some interesting roles... and fans love seeing them...
They twinkle like stars in movies, and they are the real dear ones to our reel super stars! The little ones (sons and daughters) of popular star actors making a special appearance in movies, especially in the films featuring themselves or even sometimes in other star actor’s ventures has been a regular feature in the industry for ages, a trend in Hollywood too. With the little ones of a few Kannada actor’s facing the camera recently, the trend continues with Golden Star Ganesh’s daughter Charitrya making her special appearance in her papa’s upcoming film Chamak directed by Simple Suni. Bengaluru Chronicle reports on the special little ones.
“I had read the Chamak script to Ganesh Sir at his residence. It was during the release of the film Mungaru Male-2, and Charitrya was singing a song from the Mungaru Male all the while I was explaining about my film to her dad. In my film, there is a character — a daughter who appears right at the end. That was when I asked Ganesh Sir if we could cast Charitrya for the special appearance. He just looked at me and said yes, only if he could convince his daughter! She sang a few lines from a Kannada poem which is part of her studies, and luckily we had a song too in the end and everything worked out well because of the sweet talent of Charitrya,” says director Simple Suni.
On his experience directing the “golden” daughter, Simple shares that it was her father who was more nervous, while Charitrya was very confident facing the camera. “She was just curious about the big lights, and the heat emitting when focussed upon her,” he smiles.
Another popular actor’s daughter is gearing up for a special little role. Aishwarya, daughter of Real Star Upendra and Priyanka Upendra is also making her debut in film Howrah Bridge alongside her beautiful and talented mother. Priyanka had recently revealed that her daughter was to act in her earlier film Mummy but as she was too young, it did not happen. But in Howrah Bridge, the role was apt and suited her daughter’s age, Aishwarya will be making her acting debut. The film is being majorly shot in Kolkata, which is close to Aishwarya’s grandparent’s house. Another great reason to shoot her debut film.
“Most of the time real talented child artistes are taken for proper lengthy roles that require formal training and preparations. Sons and daughters of star actors make a special appearance as a surprise element in commercial films. It is just a gesture, and a pleasant thing to see the little stars sharing the screen with their star actor parents. Moreover, the fans are equally happy to see them,” says Manohar, a film director.
In Airavata, Vineesh, son of Challenging Star Darshan made a guest appearance, and in Mass Leader starring Century Star Shivarajkumar, Parinitha, the daughter of actor Srinagara Kitty played reel daughter to Shivanna. Nenapirali Prem’s son Eknath also did a cameo in Mamu Tea Angadi.
