Ranbir ousts Upen from film promos

Upen Patel plays a cameo as Katrina Kaif’s boyfriend in the upcoming film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. The producers had plans of releasing the promos of Upen and Salman Khan (who also plays a cameo) a week before the release of the film, however the promos have now been scrapped. The reason is pretty obvious — Ranbir Kapoor. The actor is not happy with Upen’s presence in the film as Upen is his current girlfriend Deepika Padukone’s ex boyfriend.

A source from the production house said, “Ranbir never liked the fact that Upen was a part of APGK. However, he stayed put as he didn’t want to question Rajkumar Santoshi’s decision. Ranbir believed that it was Upen who leaked out a few steamy pictures of Deepika and himself when Ranbir started going out with Deepika. Even during the first theatrical promo of the film, Ranbir made it clear that he is not keen on having Upen in the promos of the film. Upen was then removed from all the promos. Upen who hoped that he would get some mileage from this cameo, is mighty upset now.”
