The Emran Hashmi and Neha Dhupia-starrer, Raftaar, is complete but the release has been put on hold. The delay has reportedly taken a toll on the health of director Shamin Desai, who had to be admitted to a hospital recently.
“Desai is in Lilavati Hospital as he has been diagnosed with neck femur, low haemoglobin and eye problems, which are stress-related,” said a source.
Raftaar has been in the making for a long time now. The source adds, “What caused further grief to the producer was that his film’s story is similar to Ram Gopal Varma’s Rann. Aditya Pancholi plays a media baron in it, while Emraan plays a TV reporter. The film is about sensationalism in media. But Rann, the shooting of which started much after Raftaar, is now all set to release.
When contacted, Shailendra Singh, MD, Percept Picture Company, says, “Raftaar will be released soon after Aashayein and Bum Bum Bhole.”
