Modi's address, CM's sops make Coldplay concert seem like BJP event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi then quoted lines from Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan's iconic.

MUMBAI: Saying he had attended the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York in 2014, PM Modi told the audience at the packed venue, via videoconference: “... I couldn’t miss out on this as it is happening for the first time in India .." And then threw this in : “You have asked me to address the gathering and not sing or else the audience will be asking for refunds and that too in Rs 100 notes.”

He then quoted lines from Nobel Laureate Bob Dylan's iconic "The times they are a-changin'", the anthem of the 60s, to make a veiled reference to the political situation in the country in the backdrop of his demonetisation move.

“Artists have often inspired generations and I too have my set of idols like Bob Dylan, Chris Martin, A.R. Rahman and Norah Jones.” Well, well, who would have thought!! Modi, a Dylan fan!
