Hara Hara Mahadevaki is an adult comedy directed by Santhosh Jayakumar is designed after that Whats App Swamiji, who did the rounds a few years back.

The movie has the basics needed for the genre: innuendos, ambiguity in the phrases, double entendres, and visual comedy that seems both fated and accidental. But these elements alone don’t make for a complete picture - mindless dialogues and run-of-the-mill content puts this in the same category as most other average Tamil comedies.

The premise is easy enough to get: Hari (Gautham Karthik) who runs a funeral service and Ramya (Nikki Galrani), a college girl, are on the verge of a breakup. They decide to settle their assets and return back what was theirs before the relationship. Kathir (Satish) is Hari’s friend. Meanwhile, a couple of other parties get roped into this story. Ravi Maria who plays a politician gives two of his imbecile underlings Spike Tyson (Rajendran) and Kumar (Karunakaran) a bomb to be plotted at a particular location. Then there’s Ravi (Bala Saravanan), a racketeer who circulates fake currency notes. In the meantime, a child goes missing at a resort and a cop Hameed (RK Suresh) is on the trail of the kidnapper, trying to recover the ransom that had been paid.

The catch? They all come to the same resort named Hara Hara Maha Devaki, and what more, they all carry bags that look similar. And when these bags containing vastly different stuff get mixed up, chaos and confusion prevails, leading to plenty of comedic opportunities.

Gautham Karthik does his part well although he does not hog the screen space fully as there are umpteen actors to take the forward the story. Nikki is just about adequate and thankfully, the director has not resorted to skin show in the pretext of ‘adult content’. All others try to chip in their bit. However, the often seen plot line and its predictable nature reduce our interest. The movie can be enjoyed only in parts!
