For a safe distance

Despite being a remake, the content makes it all worthy to be retold to younger generation.

Movie: Naduve Antaravirali

Director: Raveen Kumaara

Cast: Prakyath Paramesh, Aishani Shetty, Chikkanna, Achyuth Kumar, Tulasi Shivamani, Aruna Balaraj, Srinivas Prabhu and others.

In a majority of love stories on the Indian celluloid especially involving teenagers, it is an instant affair which ends more or less on a happy note barring a few sacrificial ones. In between, the audience witness the revolt against parents, society amongst other s interspersed with some humour, college life and of course the love songs. However, they rarely focus on the aftermath of careless misadventures of love.

Here, Naduve Antaravirali, which means to maintain a safe distance in between, a phrase mostly written on the rare side of public transportations as a warning to avoid mishaps, is an apt message for teenagers who must not miss on this one. What makes it watchable is that it is not too preachy and comes with a cute tale to fall in love with.

Barring the last few minutes and a song which holds the crux of it, for an experience which will certainly move the audience, the first half is a regular love story wherein a cute boy falls in love with a pretty girl at first sight. What falls on him to fall in love, is another ‘inner’ secret to watch out for.

The music scored by Manikanth Kadri creates a romantic aura, and the funny titbits from Chikkanna keeps it going on a lighter mode before it hits a bump just before the interval. Some might even wonder on what made the director choose such an issue, which could have been easily averted.

But, it all starts to make a sense in the second half which focuses on a larger issue by holding a mirror to reality. A careless act of teenage love, turns horrific and it strikes them hard leading to several hurdles before arriving at a final decision. This is where the maker scores marks despite giving him the benefit of having overlooked the current crop of young minds, who are actually well equipped to face ‘such’ consequences.

Apart from the well thought climax, giving a unique take on the subject, Aishani Shetty and debutant Prakyath score high with beautiful performances. Despite being a remake, the content makes it all worthy to be retold to younger generation.

A must watch for youth especially those in love, to understand the importance of keeping a safe distance from each other. The rest can watch it to know about the distance in Naduve Antaravirali.
