I am facing threats, yet to appoint security, says actor Dileep

On Saturday, they had detained two vehicles of the firm and conducted searches at its offices in Thrissur and Palakkad.

Kochi: Actor Dileep, out on bail in the case relating to the abduction and sexual assault of a former co-star, has told police that he was facing a security threat from those who were “behind lodging the complaint against him”. In his reply to the notice issued by the Kerala Police seeking an explanation over the alleged hiring of a private security firm, Dileep “clarified” he had only held talks with Goa-based ‘Thunder Force’.

He sent the written reply on their notice seeking details of bodyguards and weapons they carried to the Aluva East Police sub-inspector through one of his drivers Sunday evening. Sources said the investigators are not entirely satisfied with his reply especially on why he opted for a private security team rather than approaching the police. The cops had also sent a notice to the security firm, headed by retired IPS officer P. A. Valsan in the state.

On Saturday, they had detained two vehicles of the firm and conducted searches at its offices in Thrissur and Palakkad. Sources said the action was part of their strict monitoring to ensure that he did not misuse the facility to influence witnesses or other such activities affecting the case. The Special Investigation Team is set to submit the additional chargesheet in a week, and they are exploring chances of arraying him as the first accused, instead of Sunil Kumar aka Pulsar Suni. The star is the 11th accused now.
