Coming up for release is a film that has Tini Tom in a role that may be his most challenging one to date. Tini Tom debuts in Tamil with Operation Arapaima where he plays a transgender named Rony. The film, which is a Tamil -Telugu bi-lingual is directed by Prash. Actor Rahman plays the prominent role of a Naval officer in Operation Arapaima. Abhinaya of One by Two fame is the heroine of the film. Talking of the unusual title, the director had reportedly revealed in an interview that Arapaima is the name of the largest fresh water fish found in the Amazon River. The film is produced by Time and Tide frames Studio, which has produced films in other southern languages.
The production house is gearing up to produce another film titled Pranalayam, which is set in the flood relief camps that were set up in the state during the floods last year. This film, to be made in Tamil and Malayalam, will again be directed by Prash.
