Accusers should be thrown out of films, says Radha Ravi

Just because you think you are knowledgeable and highly talented, don't talk whatever you want to say'

Actor Radha Ravi has lashed out at those who dragged him into the #MeToo controversy. Speaking at the promo event of his upcoming film Avathaara Vettai directed by Star Kunjumon, he said those who raise such issues should be sent out of cinema. Apparently, Chinmayi had also said that her dubbing career is going up in smokes because he is the head of the Dubbing union.

Recalling how the media wrote the headlines when his dad veteran M.R. Radha shot at MGR and all the hullabaloo eventually died down after four days, he said, “Similarly, the news on #MeToo issue will perish in course of time.”

“If you throw stones at sewage, it will spill on you as well. If this trend keeps going, no one will respect film people. We cannot go 10 years back in time and see ‘everything’. By everything, I mean how the surroundings, the venue, location and other influences. Also, it might send wrong signals to others now,” he pointed out.

“Just because you think you are knowledgeable and highly talented, don’t talk whatever you want to say. By doing so, you are degrading yourselves. I am lawyer and I know these are sort of blackmailing techniques. It will create a negative impact when it comes to development. I am only talking about my cinema family and nothing else,” he concluded.
