After Guppy, director Johnpaul is back with a road movie titled Ambily. Soubin Shahir, who was elevated to the status of hero with Sudani From Nigeria, will be donning the title role. It also marks the debut of Naveen Nazim, brother of actor Nazriya Nazim. “My little baby brother has become a big boy ... Introducing Naveen Nazim with the best Soubin Shahir… I cannot wait (sic),” Nazriya wrote on Facebook.
Newbie Thanvi Ram will play the female lead. The movie that will be shot in different states in India is expected to hit theatres by the end of this year. It is after a gap of two years that Johnpaul, who narrated the tale of a relationship between mother and son in Guppy, is back in action. Sharing his happiness for the acceptance of Guppy, John wrote on Facebook that his second movie will be rooted to the present time. He further said that Ambily tries to throw light on people who spread light through love and care at a time when politics of hatred is being spread.
Guppy that made actor Tovino Thomas a star bagged five awards in the 47th Kerala State Film Awards. Saran Velayudhan will handle the camera of Ambily while Guppy-fame Vishnu Vijay will compose music. Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum-fame Kiran Das is the editor. The movie is produced by C.V. Sarathi, A.V. Anoop and Mukesh Mehta under the banner of E4 Entertainment.
