Mumbai: After being arrested in relation to the abduction and assault of a popular Malayalam actress, actor Dileep has now been officially expelled from Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).

While the actor, who’s on course to becoming the second accused in the sensational case or conspiring, behind prime accused Pulsar Suni,’ maintains that he’s innocent in the case, the police have reiterated that they are in possession of concrete evidence stating the active and consequential involvement of Dileep in the plotting of the events that led to the abduction of the actress from a moving car.

Dileep has also been expelled from Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).

An emergency meeting convened at top actor Mammootty’s residence with other stars like Prithviraj, Devan, Idavela Babu, Asif Ali and Ramya Nambeesan made the decision to expel the star. Mammootty assured that AMMA will stand by the actress.

The actor has meanwhile been sent into a fourteen day long judicial custody.
