Mallika to romance Avatar actor

Mallika Sherawat has been cast opposite Laz Alonso, who played Tsu’tey in James Cameron’s epic Avatar. “Laz Alonso is a talented and exciting actor. I’m very lucky to be working with him,” said Mallika of her new co-star in the film titled Love Barack. Mallika will play the female lead and central character Aretha Gupta, a devoted, local Obama volunteer and coordinator. The story follows the romantic and political rollercoaster that develops a month before election day in the US, Democrat Aretha unexpectedly falls for her Republican counterpart (Alonso).
The story’s inspiration comes from the many publicly-documented campaign romances that sprung-up around the Obama Presidential win, which experts speculate resulted in a baby-boom last year .
Acclaimed veteran Oscar-nominated actress Ruby Dee, comedy veteran Gerry Bednob and Grey’s Anatomy star Loretta Devine are also part of the cast.
