Marsh created for Saramaari climax

For a crucial action sequence, in which the four protagonists take on the villain, the director needed a marshy stretch of land.

Director Kamal G’s upcoming film, Saramaari, tells the story of four college friends played by Jaikiran, Arivazhagan, Manoj and Vijith. It also features Hemalatha, who’s making her debut as a heroine.

Talking about the project, Kamal reveals, “It is based on the real-life issued faced by the students of Nellai Engineering College a few years ago. The film has been shot extensively in Tirunelveli.”

For a crucial action sequence, in which the four protagonists take on the villain, the director needed a marshy stretch of land. A farmer who initially volunteered his plot for the shoot ended up backing out of his commitment. But Kamal didn’t want to compromise and put up an artificial set. Instead, he hired half an acre of land in Tirunelveli for a month, turned it into a marsh, and shot there.
