According to sources, Oviya who became an overnight sensation through Bigg Boss reality show, failed to cash in on her popularity. She turned down many films, including a few biggies post her BB stint. The ever-smiling actress is presently having only a few films in her kitty like Lawrence’s Kanchana 3, Kaatteri, and Anita Udeep’s 90 ML.
The big buzz now is efforts are being taken to rope in Oviya for the film Panangkaattu Nari, which has lyricist Snehan, who also hit the limelight with the BB show (and was a close side to the actress at the show), as the lead protagonist.
Recently, the first look poster of Panangkaattu…. was launched in Malaysia by Oviya. This venture is directed by EV Ganesh Babu, and bankrolled by Sri Vishnu Creations.
It is unclear if Oviya has given her nod to the film, though whispers suggest she had listened to the story line and gave the green signal.
One may recall that a few months back, music composer Sathya of Engeyum Eppodhum fame had ventured into production and said he would be launching his first film with Snehan as the lead and was trying for Oviya as the female lead. But, there’s no news on the project as of yet. Watch this space for more updates!
