Pottu fetches big price in T'town

The horror film has been sold for a whopping one crore.

The Telugu rights of a hardcore horror Tamil film Pottu, which features Bharath, Namitha, Iniya and Srushti Dange, has been sold for a whopping one crore rupees. Directed by Vadivudayan, the film’s songs are composed by Amreesh.

When we contacted Johnmax, one of the producers who bankrolled the project under his banner, Shalom Studios, he confirmed the news and said, “Yes, the well-known NKR Films from T’town, who is releasing films like Vijay Antony’s Annadurai (Indrasena), has bought Pottu (titled Bottu in Telugu) for a big price.

The film is a multi-starrer and has been made at a big-budget. There’s closer to an hour of fascinating CG work in the film. And these stars are equally well-known in Tollywood as well.”

Ask him about the considerable price it has fetched, he says, “There’s a huge demand for well-made horror movies among Telugu audiences and they prefer only watching films in theaters. Our previous film Sowcarpettai, a horror thriller with Srikanth and Raai Laxmi in the lead, fetched me good price in Telugu and was well received.”

John also adds that Pottu’s Hindi rights have also been sold for a sizeable amount, which is titled as Bindi in Bollywood. All the three versions are scheduled for a December last release.
