Soon after a press meet (at Hyderabad) organised to introduce a new actress, Aaradhya, who is actress Anjali’s cousin sister, the latter’s PR wing issued a statement saying that she did not have a younger sister, and that her only sister (elder) was married and settled abroad.
To rewind a bit, Anjali’s maternal aunt, Bharathi Devi, is said to have played a key role in kick-starting her career. In fact, sources reveal that she was the actress’ adoptive mother too. However, a few years ago, trouble brewed and the two had a fall out. While not much is known about their relationship since then, what conspired after the press meet proves that Anjali is still not at peace with the past.
However, both Aaradhya and her mother maintained that things were alright. “My sister is my inspiration. Her hard work and journey to the top has inspired me to venture into films. It was her career graph that pushed me to start off in the first place,” shared Aaradhya, who has signed two films in Tamil alongside another Telugu film to be helmed by director Samudra.
Aaradhya added, “She (Anjali) may say that I am not her sister, but the truth won’t change just because she doesn’t agree.”
