Director MSS recalls how the late lyricist Na Muthukumar completed a romantic number in just 33 minutes while travelling to the airport for his upcoming movie Melnaatu Marumagan, which features Rajkamal and French model Andrean.
“I wanted a feel-good song from Na Muthukumar for MM and approached him for the same. He was in a hurry to leave for the U.S, but I insisted that the sequence would be justified only if he penned the lyrics. He asked me to accompany him in the car, and in just 33 minutes he wrote the song which goes like this —Yaaro Yaar Ivalo, Sandhoshathin Peyar Ivala…… I could not match his speed while writing!” he recalls. On the film front, MSS says that Melnaattu ….. is a clean family entertainer without double meaning dialogues, violence, or sexual overtones.
