Director SR Prabhakaran, who made his debut with the critically-acclaimed Sundarapandiyan is currently shooting his third project, featuring Vikram Prabhu and Manjima Mohan in the lead roles. In June 2016, it was announced that the title of the film has been finalised as Mudi Sooda Mannan. Recently, there were rumours claiming that the title of the film has been changed— and sure enough, Prabhakaran took to Twitter to announce that the film has been renamed as Sathriyan. Incidentally, Sathriyan is also the title of a 1990 crime-drama and was one of Vijayakanth’s career-best films.
The team was planning to announce the new title on New Year, but the news found its way to cyber space, and the person who leaked the title also re-released the poster with the new title! This film, produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, has Aishwarya Dutta and Kavin in supporting roles. Music has been composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and the film is expected to hit the theatres by mid-2017.
