Suriya to build privies in hundreds of schools

Accordingly, he has chosen 400 schools in TN in which he will be building 10 restrooms each where such facilities have been found wanting.

Suriya is one actor who always bats for education. He strongly believes imparting education to someone in a family will offer light to the family and society leading to the country’s progress. In an extension of his deeds towards the cause, the actor who celebrates his birthday today (July 23) has added yet another fine gesture through his Fans Welfare Association to make it more meaningful.

Accordingly, he has chosen 400 schools in TN in which he will be building 10 restrooms each where such facilities have been found wanting. It does not stop with just constructing toilets — fans from the welfare association Agaram Foundation would also take care of their maintenance throughout the year.

Those who have worked in Suriya’s production ventures like Magalir Mattum and the recent Kadaikutty Singam which dealt with farmers, heap praises on the Thanaa Serndha Koottam actor for concern he shows at the shooting locales. “As a producer Suriya sir sees that all the actors, especially the female artistes in the team, are comfortable while shooting in outdoor locales. Since one cannot expect proper privies while shooting in remote places, he makes appropriate arrangements providing caravans irrespective of cost,” says a unit hand.

Yet another thing that Suriya has resolved upon is to completely avoid smoking scenes in his films. Though there were cigarette smoking scenes in his earlier movies, he has reportedly said that he would stay away from such scenes to set an example for his fans and followers.

He also requested his fans not to compare themselves with anyone else. “Do not compare yourself with others, which will ultimately give you mental stress. Do your work in the best possible way and never allow complacency to set in. More than anything else, our family is always first and give importance to them.” Fans will also celebrate the occasion by distributing food, conducting blood and eye donation camps and pledging their body organs.
