Vikram Prabhu is trying out a full-fledged comedy for the first time. Pakka is the film in which he will have two heroines for company —Bindu Madhavi and Nikki Galrani. Talking about the specialty of the film, director SS Surya claims that there are no indoor shots at all in the film and the entire story happens with festivals as the backdrop.
Talking to DC, Surya says, "So far, Tamil audiences would have witnessed thiruvizha (festival) in one song or scene in films. But Pakka is a film, the story of which is entirely happening against the backdrop of festivals. And it is for the first time in the history of Tamil cinema, a full movie has been shot only in exterior (outdoors). There are no interior shots."
For a particular karagam song, composer Sathya was taken to the actual location of Kallakurichi where a ‘temple festival’ was organised for him to understand the music of real life karagattam players. Yet another festival was shot on a river in Kuttralam comprising 1,000 junior artistes and dancers along with the actors."
Soori, Satish, Anandaraj, Singam Puli, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vaiyapuri are among the supporting cast. Producer T.Shivakumar appears as a key character.
