Looks like Indian 2, the sequel of Kamal- Shankar’s earlier blockbuster with the same name, is undergoing major changes. Earlier, it was reported that T’wood producer Dil Raju will be producing the movie with the same actor-director combo. Now, we hear that the film is being made by biggie Lyca Productions, who are presently bankrolling Shankar’s sci-fi thriller 2.o — touted to be the costliest production of Rajinikanth’s flick. An official announcement is still expected from the production house.
Yet another buzz is that, the pan-Indian cinematographer Ravi Varman is brought on board for Indian 2. Neither Kamal nor Shankar is new to Varman, as he has worked in two blockbuster films of the former — Vettayadu Vilayaadu and Dasavatharam and in Anniyan with the latter.
When DC contacted Varman, he was busy on the sets of Rajkumar Hirani’s
next, titled Sanju — a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt, which has Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. “Rajkumar Hirani is an intense filmmaker known for his path-breaking movies. I’m happy to be associated with him for a biopic and enjoying my work.” Ask him about Indian 2, the answer you get is ‘big smile’.
