Jr. NTR to become only second in his family after his grandfather to enter Kollywood?

When we hear NT Rama Rao’s name (popularly known as NTR), we are reminded of his flawless performance as Lord Krishna in Sivaji Ganesan-starrer Karnan. Apart from NTR, no other actor from his family has acted in Tamil as they were comfortable in their mother tongue Telugu. Now, it looks like his grandson Jr. NTR may enter K’town.

According to a source, the actor has been considered to reprise his grandfather in the biopic Nadigaiyar Thilagam, a film based on the life of veteran actress Savitri. “The film’s producer Swapna Dutt and NTR share a great bond and the former believes that NTR’s presence in the movie would elevate the project. Talks haven’t been initiated so far, but his inclusion in the movie will be finalised according to NTR’s shooting schedule,” the source reveals.

There is a lot of speculation surrounding around the characters of NTR and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao (ANR) and the actors who would be playing them onscreen. Shooting of the Tamil-Telugu bilingual is underway at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

Keerthy Suresh plays the titular character of Savitri while Dulquer Salmaan will be reprising the role of Gemini Ganesan. He is expected to join the shoot from August. The film also has Samantha as a journalist and Pelli Choopulu actor, Vijay Deverakonda, as her pair. Directed by Nag Ashwin, Nadigaiyar Thilagam has music scored by Mickey J Meyer.
