Suriya demands unconditional apology from PETA India

Suriya is also conscious of issues and is a person known for his philanthropic works towards the society.

Recently, PETA India, (the organisation which was instrumental in getting jallikattu banned) made a derogatory remark on social media network as well as on WhatsApp, about actor Suriya supporting jallikattu all of a sudden — stating that he did it in order to garner publicity for his upcoming flick Si 3, which is slated to release on January 26.

Hurt by the offensive remarks, Suriya sent a notice to PETA and other members in the organisation to tender an unconditional apology within seven days of the notice failing which he will take the legal route. It is mentioned in the notice that Suriya has supported jallikattu on various other occasions in the past and that there is no need for him to publicise his film as the movie belongs to a well-known franchise. Suriya is also conscious of issues and is a person known for his philanthropic works towards the society.
