Ritika Singh bedazzled us in the role of a rustic fisherwoman in her debut Irudhi Suttru. Later, she went onto act in Aandavan Kattalai and in Raghava Lawrence’s Shivalinga. The latest we hear is that she’s going to offer more as the leading lady in her forthcoming Tamil film Vanangamudi, directed by Selvah.
Speaking about her role, she says, “I will be seen as a lively and independent girl in the film, but there’s more to her than what meets the eye. The role brings out several shades in me as the plot unfolds. It’s the script and the character that excites and pushes me to explore new terrains.”
Having done a slew of films in Tamil, the actress says that she’s now fluent in Tamil — “I am comfortable speaking in Tamil because I constantly listen to my staff and people on the sets speaking it. Moreover, understanding the language helps me to express better. I would love to dub for my lines to make my role look more authentic.”
