Yuvan Shankar Raja did Pei Pasi for love

Arya, heaping laurels on Yuvan, said, Hari and I are gym mates. Being launched in a film that has Yuvan's music is a blessing.

Horror-thriller Pei Pasi is one of the few films in the world that’s been shot entirely inside a departmental store. Director Shrinivas Kavinayam, who has written the film along with Nalan Kumaraswamy, says that the highlight of the film is its quirky screenplay.

The movie’s audio launch event was graced by several celebrities. And they were all talking about Yuvan Shankar Raja’s incredible audio-recording abilities.

“There are no songs in the film, except for a promo number. But it is Yuvan’s re-recording that forms the backbone of the film. We have attempted live sound recording which will be a new experience for the audience,” Shrinivas remarked.

Speaking on the occasion, Venkat Prabhu said, “Right from childhood, my cousin Hari Bhaskar has had a passion for donning grease paint. In fact, he was upset that I didn’t introduce him in one of my films. I am happy he’s been able to make it on his own. I’ve had to opportunity to watch this film, and Shrinivas has attempted something new in Tamil cinema. I was wondering how he convinced the producer to back this story, which has to be enjoyed visually, but he used the concept of virtual reality while narrating the script!”

Yuvan also had words of appreciation for Hari. “When I thought of making a film for him, he left for Sri Lanka. Somehow, he has achieved his dreams. When Pei Pasi happened, he insisted that I should do the music. I did it for the love and affection that we share; money is secondary,” he said.

Arya, heaping laurels on Yuvan, said, “Hari and I are gym mates. Being launched in a film that has Yuvan’s music is a blessing. People are receptive to new ideas, so Pei Pasi will also be lapped up by audiences,” he said.
