Here is some exclusive news from the tinsel town! After bonding over Nadigar Sangam issues, Karthi and Vishal are now joining hands for a movie. Well, the director who decided to bring the two together is actor-filmmaker Prabhu Deva who returned to K’town, after a gap of 11 years as an actor! Interestingly, the film has been titled Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja.
Though the news has been making rounds for the last few months, it has been confirmed only recently. Earlier, Vishal had said that young actors of Kollywood will come together for a movie to raise funds for the construction of Nadigar Sangam’s own building. But, it looks like the new movie KRVR has nothing to do with the Sangam. In an earlier interview to this newspaper, both the actors had emphasised, “No, this is not for Nadigar Sangam. It will be a regular commercial movie.”
The film will be bankrolled by Isari Ganesh. A close source from Vishal’s side confirmed the news, saying, “Yes, it is true, but it’s in the nascent stage now. Both Vishal and Karthi have other commitments. They will complete those projects and then join KRVR.” He also added that it would be an action thriller movie with loads of fun and entertainment.
The source was not willing to divulge more details about the rest of the cast and crew. However, we hear that either Anirudh or Harris Jayaraj will be brought on board for music. Since all the three — Prabhu, Vishal and Karthi — have a considerable fanbase in Tollywood, the film is likely to be made in Telugu as well. Incidentally, Vishal and Prabhu Deva had collaborated for a project, Vedi, five years ago.
