Selvaragahvan’s much-awaited film, Nenjam Marappathillai, is still lying in cans despite its completion long back. The film, which stars SJ Suryah, Regina Cassandra and Nandita Swetha, has Yuvan Shankar Raja composing the music. It was originally scheduled to hit the screens last year — but has missed a couple of planned dates for release.
Meanwhile, Selva opened up for fans’ queries on the horror thriller’s release.
“Deeply touched by all your queries about the release of Nenjam Marappathillai. Soon. Very soon! The release date is not in the director’s hands. The producer owns the film and Madan sir knows the best. Thank you for your patience and faith,” Selvaraghavan posted on his Twitter handle. He also thanked the fans for their patience and faith.
Yuvan and Selvaraghavan have reunited after eight years for this project. Heaping praises on Yuvan’s music, Selva said, “I can’t explain in words what kind of background score Yuvan has done for Nenjam Marappathillai. In one word, it is ‘astounding’”
The film was up for release late in June, but had to be pushed due to the GST-related issues in Kollywood. The film’s trailers have garnered extremely positive responses so far. Selva’s next film starring Santhanam, titled Mannavan Vanthaanadi is almost nearing completion.
