Kallathanam, directed by Dhandapani, a short filmmaker who is making his debut in the silver screen, is a film revolving around a treasure hunt. The clues to get the fortune are inscribed on palm leaf manuscripts. Debutant Yugan plays the lead hero and Swapna from Malayalam and Nagina are the female leads. A bunch of Koothu-p-pattarai talents have also been roped in.
“The hero who holds a degree in agriculture helps the farmers in his village in improving farming. He is at loggerheads with the villain who is into illegal sand mining. What happens when the baddie comes to know of the palm leaf manuscripts, where the secret hideouts of a treasure of gold and diamonds buried in the hero’s house, forms the crux. It is a commercial movie with a message as well.”
