Director Naveen, who received critical acclaim for his intelligent writing and screenplay in his black comedy Moodar Koodam where he also played one of the lead roles, has signed his next with music composer turned hero Vijay Antony. Siva of Amma Creations is bankrolling the project.
Talking to DC, Naveen who has silently completed his second directorial venture, a fantasy thriller (with Kayal Anandhi in lead) the title of which is yet to be announced says, “The new movie with Vijay Antony is an action thriller with all mass elements in it.”
Ask him as to why he opted for Vijay Antony who is known for choosing unusual characters, he replies, “This script is not the run-of-the-mill action film type and I can say it is sort of a mass hero subject and will go well with Vijay Antoy sir. The script has its own emotions and play.”
Naveen reveals that he is looking out for a heroine who would perform effortlessly. “The lead lady character is unique and it’s a pivotal role in the movie. I want someone like Akshara Haasan and we are just figuring it out.” He also says that all the characters in the film have bearing in the script.
The talented youngster says that he prefers direction to acting, as the latter is very demanding. “That’s the reason I am not part of the cast in this film. If you choose to come in front of camera, you need to maintain your body, look good and stuff like that. I am a carefree person who hangs around in shorts with beard and definitely my choice is wielding the megaphone (laughs).” The film is shot extensively in abroad locales in European countries.
