With his upcoming flick Semma Botha Aagatha, Atharvaa is becoming a producer. He tells DC, “It’s going to be a different film for me as an actor. And as a producer, I am excited. The film would be a complete entertainer. When Badri told me the script, I wanted to do it and said ‘yes’ immediately. Badri and I already have worked together in Baana Kaathadi. After that, we wanted to actually team up, but that didn’t happen. Also there’s this comfort factor between us.”
Atharvaa adds that the film is a funny take on a guy who does not drink. “Contrary to the title, it is quite a positive film and we do not endorse drinking. So far, we have shot in Chennai, Kerala and Karnataka. The film features two heroines — Anaika Soti of Kaaviya Thalaivan fame and Mishti Chakraborty. Both of them have equally powerful roles in the film. Mishti plays my love interest, while Anaika’s role is a bold one. However, I can’t say what the role is, because it forms part of the suspense quotient of the story,” he explains. Semma... has an ensemble cast of John Vijay, Karunakaran, M.S Bhaskar and Mano Bala, and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
