Priya Anand is back in K'town

She now returns with the political satire LKG where she teams up with the comedian turned hero RJ Balaji.

Having worked with the likes of Atharvaa, Gautham Karthik,Rana and Siddharth, the actress Priya Anand was out of sight for a while in K’town. She now returns with the political satire LKG where she teams up with the comedian turned hero RJ Balaji.

The movie, produced by Isari Ganesh, has story, screenplay and dialogues by Balaji and is directed by Prabhu. Nanjil Sampath and JK Riteesh play crucial roles.

Speaking about the film, Priya said, “It’s been a long time since I did a Tamil film, I’m meeting you all after a long time. Thanks Balaji for this role. It is very positive film and has intelligent comedy. There’s no vulgarity. I have limited political knowledge, but I learnt a lot. I would like to clarify that Balaji has written all the dialogues I mouth them in the film. I’m not related to them in any way. There’s a message and it is a very important film for this generation.”

Sehe explains how she accepted the movie, “It is not a run of the mill romantic character that the hero would stalk the heroine and fall in love. The women are rocking the workforce in India right now, and my character represents them. I would also like to thank Balaji for writing a respectable character for me. RJ Balaji has been entertaining us in all the media. We both have been visiting a lot of colleges now, and wherever we go, he has been speaking for women empowerment. The responses have been tremendous.”

On his part, Balaji said, “I was apprehensive if any Tamil speaking heroine would be ready to do this role, since the male protagonist is a comedian (me). I did not approach Priya for acting in this film. She was one of the first people I narrated the script to. She liked the script and said that’s she wanted to be part of this movie.”

He adds, “In present scenario, most ‘U’ Certified films have scenes that abuse women and belittle them. But this film does not have such scenes, and you can watch this with your family.”
