Anjali, who is receiving accolades for her extended cameo in Taramani, was in Chennai recently for the dubbing of her upcoming horror flick Balloon, which has Jai in the lead. The actress opens up to DC about her future films and more, in an exclusive.
“When Ram sir asked me if I can do a cameo in Taramani, I gladly agreed — after all, he was the one who introduced me in films with Kattradhu Tamizh. Recently, I went and watched Taramani at the theater and there was great response for my scenes from the public (smiles).”
Speaking about Balloon, she states, “It’s an interesting subject and Jai is playing my pair. The director has adopted a new narrative.” She was unwilling to make any comment when we prodded her about her alleged love affair with the actor.
The Angadi Theru actress adds that she is pleased to team up once again with Ram in Peranbu, which has Mammootty in the lead, which is said to deal with the topics like human emotions and relationships.
I can’t reveal much about the film, but I have a solid role to perform. Few reports suggested that I play a transgender in the film — which is incorrect! There is yet another Malayali model Anjali, who is a transgender and plays a role in Peranbu,” Anjali adds.
On the personal front, she says she is content, as there are no problems from her aunt as of now. Looking ahead, the actress known for her strong choice of roles, wants to do glam characters as well. “I want to equally act in routine commercial movies and in glamorous flicks,” she quips.
The actress also returns to the Malayalam industry after a gap with Rosapoo with Biju Menon.
She recently visited the Parliament House when she was in Delhi. “People started asking me if I was going to enter politics! I have no plans for the future yet, be it my marriage or politics. I seriously don’t know what’s in store for me,” she signs off flashing her beautiful smile.
