India's Vice-President appreciates Karthi's film

Mr Naidu believes that cinema is an art form that has the power to influence people and society.

High-ranking bureaucrats have been publicly congratulating south Indian celebs through their social media handles. First, it was President Ram Nath Kovind, who wished maestro Ilayaraja on the occasion of his birthday; and now, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu has heaped laurels on actor Karthi for his portrayal of a farmer in the film Chinna Babu, (the Telugu version of Kadaikutty Singam).

Mr Naidu believes that cinema is an art form that has the power to influence people and society. After watching Chinna Babu produced by Suriya and directed by Pandiraj, the leader took to Twitter to rave about it.

“I happened to watch the recent Telugu release Chinna Babu. Set against the backdrop of a prosperous village, the film entertains while emphasising our culture and tradition of beautiful living without including any profane or inappropriate elements,” he said.

Not surprisingly, Suriya was delighted with the comment. He responded, saying, “Sir truly honoured!! That a leader of your stature took the time to pay attention to our efforts means the world to us. Our team is overwhelmed by your gesture and inspired to make value-based entertainment.”
