Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has scored music for more than a 100 films, ventured into production last year. He floated his banner, YSR Films, and brought on actress Nayanthara for his first project. This film, titled Kolayuthir Kaalam, directed by Billa 2 fame Chakri Toleti, is currently underway in the locales of London. Recently, YSR Films, through its Twitter handle, stated that the announcement regarding the production house’s second venture, will be out soon. A little birdie tells us, “Yuvan has also finalised his second project and he will be teaming up with director Seenu Ramasamy for this venture. The composer has managed to sign on Vijay Sethupathi to play the lead role in this film. An official announcement regarding the same will soon be out.”
It is reported that the film has been titled Maamanithan and the team is now finalising the rest of the cast and crew. Yuvan is expected to double up as composer for this project. Shooting of this yet-to-be-titled movie is expected to commence sometime in July. The trio had earlier worked on Idam Porul Yaeval (yet to see the light of the day) and Dharmadurai, which went on to become one of the best films of 2016. Watch this space for more updates!
