On the lines of Kannadasan

Directed by Rajesh, this song has the rest of the lines penned by late lyricist Na Muthukumar.

If it was MGR’s message-oriented number Kannai Nambaadhe which he remixed for his previous film Enakku Innoru Paer Irukku — composer-turned-actor GV Prakash is now rehashing a classic yesteryear song of Sivaji Ganesan’s, Iravinil Aattam Pagalinil Thookam that was penned by the legendary Kannadasan from the film Navarathri — for his upcoming flick Kadavul Irukkan Kumaru!

Thankfully, only the first few lines have been remixed. Directed by Rajesh, this song has the rest of the lines penned by late lyricist Na Muthukumar. A huge set has been erected at Ambattur for what they call ‘a wild number’ — the shoot of which resumed on Monday after the unit paid tributes to Muthukumar. “It was a huge shock to realise that Muthukumar is not with us today,” Siva added.

Talking to DC from the location, producer Siva, said, “The first two lines are a remix version of Iravinil Aattam.. but the rest of the lyrics have been written by Na Muthukumar. It’s a humorous number with GVP and a whole lot of comedians including Kovai Sarala, RJ Balaji, Robo Shankar, Mottai Rajendran, and Singam Puli shaking their legs. Dinesh master is choreographing the number.”
One of his lines was Peigalukku Ellam Kaal Illai Endraal, Golusu Sattham Varuma (If ghosts don’t have legs, how come the anklet sounds?!)
