The movie is based on a short film Madhu, which was directed by Rathnakumar.

Vaibhav Reddy seems to be a happy man these days, with all the quirky roles he is being offered of late. Recently, Venkat Prabhu roped him in as the hero for his next titled RK Nagar, which has a political tinge. Now, director Karthik Subbaraj has brought him on board for his next production venture Meyaadha Maan. The movie is based on a short film Madhu, which was directed by Rathnakumar and produced by the Pizza director, under his banner Bench Talkies.

Speaking to DC, Vaibhav says, “Karthik Subbaraj and I have been in talks for a over a possible collaboration. Things fell in place when he decided to make the short film, Madhu, as a feature. Rathnakumar will once again helm the affair.”

As we probe about the movie, he says, “I am not allowed to speak about it much. The makers are planning to promote it in a big way.” With a little more prodding, he says, “I play a local tough guy belonging to Royapuram North Chennai. It’s sort of a cute romantic story. Priya, a new girl, essays my pair. I am happy to be acting for Santhosh Narayanan’s compositions.”

Praising the debut director, Vaibhav adds, “I saw the short film and found it mind-blowing. He is very talented. He has made many changes in the script to suit the movie format.”
