Vijay Sethupathi unveiled the first look of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s first female centric venture titled Velvet Nagaram recently. The actor also had words of appreciation for the intriguing poster and the work of the entire team of VN. An action thriller, the film is directed by Manoj Kumar and is based on true-life incidents that took place in Kodaikanal and Chennai.
Varu will be seen as an investigative journalist from Madurai. Manojkumar says, “We were looking out for a versatile actress for the central character and Varalaxmi was our first choice. She essays a journo from Madurai who comes to Chennai in connection with the investigation of a ghastly incident involving tribes from Kodaikanal. How she braves all odds and exposes the truth to the whole world forms the rest.” The film has Achu Rajamani as the music composer. The supporting cast includes Malavika Sundar, Ramesh Thilak, Arjay and Prakash Raghavan.
